I just got my new Vario skies! this item just came out. The skies are made of plastic and very light. In my case I modified a little bit the shape of the original and add some rails that mounts with screws. The skies are attached with an snap on clamp that works very well.

Now the skies will be ready for the painting process plus adding some anti skid on the upper side.
The following picture is to show that you can do masking for the powder coating process using a silicone base tape. In my case we mask those pieces that would go in the main body. After the powder coating process.
See above how we glue the bearing holders for the tail boom rotor shaft. I carefully mask the area of contact then sand the powder coat until I see the metal and use BVM aeroepoxy glue to glue them together. I can't believe how strong is the aeroepoxy! I did some tests metal to metal and I can't take them apart...... the metal got bend and the join still holding. I am very happy I did all my epoxy work with aeroepoxy.
